Lunchtime spent at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU)

MMU visit

As you know, we are a proud Manchester company and we love having local links with our community – from Barney Ibbotson who designed our lens cloths, right through to connections with Manchester Metropolitan University – this is something we thrive on.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to send Matt to a networking event at MMU. Arlo Wolf and other local businesses were invited to discuss the importance of team members, managing employees and the various types of leadership methodology which can be applied.

Charles Dhawa who is studying for a PhD at MMU reported his findings about his research topic of “Understanding People Management in Small and Medium Enterprises.” Charlie’s enthusiasm about his studies and his research undertaking was inspiring and every attendee left with a spring in their step.

Following on from Charlie was Zee Abualhamael who shared his own experiences of leadership and management styles from running his own business. Again, Zee was thoroughly entertaining and the anecdotes and relation back to leadership methodology really hit home and gave Matt a valuable insight which he has shared with the team at Arlo HQ.

Charlie is due to report further on his findings during 2019 and we’re very excited to see the outcome!
